Spaghetti Memento - January 2024

This is the exact shade of orange that spaghetti stains Tupperware. Leave it for five days or five hours, that sucker will be changed forever. It's a faint but oddly radiant orange, unmistakable really. Go ahead and scrub it again, you can even set your dishwasher to superpower mode, it's a fool's errand. Best to just resign to the fact you have a designated Spaghetti Tupperware now.

Blooberry Muffin - February 2024

This is the exact shade of purple you are going to find somewhere on your hands or arms several hours after eating a Blueberry muffin. It's a distinct purple, one you almost feel before you see it. Around about 11:15am you’ll find it and go “what is that...”, accompanied by a small sigh.  Scanning your memory banks you’ll solve the mystery quickly, the brave might even lick it off.

Paprika Overboard - March 2024

This is the exact shade of red when paprika is smeared across a white countertop. It's a carefree red, a flavorful red. A bit of it always seems to land outside the target area.  When you use the back edge of your hand to wipe it away, its tends to just taunt you.  At which point you say “Alright papi, I’ll get a sponge, if you are gonna be a jerk about it.”

Fuzzy Wanderer- March 2024

This is the exact shade of grey-green you get when a seedless Califonia Mandrin gets hidden in the produce drawer of the fridge. It's a matter-of-fact type green, a confident loner. It says “if you aren’t going to eat this, I will”. It's a bold settler to forgotten lands, a new life going about its business without a complaint or care.

Rasin Impact - April 2024

This is the exact shade of brown you get when a raisin gets smashed underfoot.  It's a defeated brown, flat in both dimension and vibrance. It could be a stray from the bulk food aisle or mishap roll away on a cafeteria floor. They are not, however, usually important enough to be saved or noticed, their destiny is now flat. Rest in peace sweet prince.

Band Back Together - May 2024

This is the exact shade of purple of the rubber band stretched around a bunch of Asparagus. It's a friendly but authoritative purple.  The type of purple that says. “Yeah, I’ll keep these crazy spears in order for you, until you’re ready.” It's supportive more than constrictive, its looking out for you. It’ll even stick around, to hold chopsticks or something afterward.
